Waiheke Island vineyard hopper bus

There is nothing better than spending a summer's day soaking up the sunshine and sipping some very drinkable fine wine! Fullers are making it very easy for you to enjoy Waiheke Island's top vineyards with the introduction of a vineyard hopper bus service.
For only $15, you'll receive an all day hopper pass that gives you unlimited travel on the hopper bus, so you can 'hop-on' & 'hop-off' at multiple vineyards all in one day!
The hopper service picks up and drops off at the Matiatia Ferry Terminal, taking the hassle out of transport to/from the ferry.
This service only operates on weekends and public holidays.

- Goldwater Estate
- Kennedy Point
You will also have the chance to transfer at Oneroa Village and Goldwater Estate onto other scheduled bus services that go via Stonyridge Vineyard, Wild on Waiheke vineyard and near Te Whau Vineyard.

Manurewa Sports Expo

Counties Manukau Sport will be hosting the inaugural Manurewa Sports Expo.
The various sports clubs from around Manurewa, Weymouth and Clendon are invited to participate in this event to promote the sporting opportunities to the community.
Each club will be invited to have a tent/marquee and to have a "fun area" where the public can participate in their sport. Clubs will also be taking registrations for their club.
The Police Bluelight will provide a BBQ and there will be some catering available.

Ed Mason Baseball Classic 2010

The Auckland Baseball Association kicks off the season in style this weekend with a tournament competition of fast paced baseball action with teams competing in the Ed Mason Classic at the Lloyd Elsmore Baseball Park in Pakuranga.
In an action-packed day, the teams compete in a round robin type competition, with games lasting one hour twenty minutes. Each team is set to play two to three games throughout the day with the first pitch being thrown at 9:00am.

World Rowing Championships

2010 will mark the second time the World Rowing Championships have come to Lake Karapiro and New Zealand in the event’s history. The first time was back in 1978 and that championship proved to be one of the more memorable in the sport’s history.
It isn’t every day that international championships come to New Zealand and it is guaranteed to be a festival of the sport not to be missed, whether you are a visiting competitor, a team member, a domestic or international spectator, an official or a volunteer.
Detailed planning has been on-going for three years and there have been significant changes to the infrastructure of the Lake Karapiro facility to help ensure these championships are once again a hugely memorable one for everyone who comes to race or watch.
The goal of everyone involved in the planning and build up to the event is for all to share in the unique experience of New Zealand, Lake Karapiro and the Rowing World Championships.

Cambridge Melbourne Cup Day 2010

The Melbourne Cup is Australia's most famous horse race, and is truly the 'race that stops a nation'.
The Waikato region's overwhelming contribution to the Emirates Melbourne Cup is to be celebrated at Cambridge. Cambridge Melbourne Cup Day will be held at Lake Karapiro as part of the official 2010 World Rowing Champs programme.
This year will mark the 150th anniversary of the great race. Cambridge has been home to 14 Cup winners, eight of which are associated with Cambridge Stud, and the greater Waikato region has contributed a number of others. In the past 45 years – 55% of the winners have been from Waikato blood.
Racing from Flemington will be broadcast live all afternoon on massive outdoor screens in front of the picturesque Lake Karapiro, climaxing in the Emirates Melbourne Cup Race at around 5pm.

Auckland International Carnival 2010

The V 4 and Rotary nationals isn't over till you have been to the drags! This day belongs to the drag racers from all over NZ and Offshore..

Car parking at the V 4 and Rotary Nationals is absoulty free (normal carpark).
So you’ve been working overtime through the winter to get those new parts you need to get your ride boosting a bit harder. A bit of tuning here and a lap up the main road there and before you know it the drag racing season has begun!
From Fram Autolite Dragway, Meremere, Drag Day at the ‘Nats’ truly is the drawcard of the whole nationals weekend. Limited to only 300 cars, year in and year out the limit is reached and capacity crowds flock from all over NZ to witness the fastest 4, 6 & Rotary (and some Japanese V8) powered vehicles in the land. Not racing and worried about parking your ride? With a larger secured carpark allocated for spectators your pride & joy will be safe!

The Great NZ Muster

Thousands of visitors flock to the small rural town every year to witness the mayhem of the woolly charge down the main street.
Are we in Pamplona, Spain, for the world famous annual running of the bulls? No. We’ll be in Te Kuiti, New Zealand, at 2pm on April 2nd for the world famous NZ Shears “Running of the Sheep”. Te Kuiti’s cure for insomnia is the star attraction of Waitomo District’s Great NZ Muster.
The Great NZ Muster kicks off at 10am, a traditional kiwi country fair with sideshows, fairground rides, food (of both the homemade and fast varieties), local arts and crafts and up to 100 stalls and exhibits from Taranaki to Coromandel.
Kiwi heartland stuff at its best, bringing rural and town folk together. Entertainment runs from rock and rollers and kapahaka groups performing on stage, to fun fair rides and amusements.
